goodmorningpapua.com – The Gymanstic Community of Real Zumba of Serui has a different way in celebrating the National Children’s Day in Yapen Islands, Papua which falls on July 23, 2021.
The community, which is supported by beautiful women, chose to visit the Serui Regional General Hospital to distribute biscuits and the needs of children being treated.
According to The Gymnastics Community of Real Zumba Serui Member, Sulistiowati Rumbekwan, sharing does not need to be luxurious and expensive in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Moreover, it gives encouragement to children who are being cared for.
“We share and pray for these children to get well soon, we also encourage their parents to always be patient in caring for children until they are healthy, surrender them in prayer and entrust them to the medical team,” said Sulistiowati, who is also a member of the Yapen DRPD.
The Coordinator of Gymnastics Community of The Real Zumba, Deasy Pratiwi, said that social humanitarian action has become a habit of The Real Zumba Serui, including religious and educational activities.
“Although not many and often yes, this is also a contribution from some gymnastics members, this is a form of our concern. In addition to children who are sick, we also share with the medical team,” he said.
Deasy invites the public to implement health protocols such as wearing masks, maintaining distance, washing hands and others to prevent the transmission of Covid-19.
“Despite the pandemic, the gymnastics activities are still being carried out, of course, by implementing Prokes, such as maintaining distance, limiting the number of people and exercising in the open, and using face shields,” explained Deasy.
