Regency Government of Puncak Jaya Prepares 1 Ton of Mulia Coffee to Support PON of Papua – The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Puncak Jaya, Papua, in collaboration with PB PON Papua, prepared one ton of Mulia coffee to be marketed as a gift or souvenir for contingent of the National Sports Week (PON) XX of Papua.

A Regent of Puncak Jaya, Yuni Wonda, Sunday (29/8/2021), said the Mulia coffee, which is the superior program of Puncak Jaya Regency, has a unique taste that is different from other types of coffee.

Regent Yuni Wonda mentioned that the Mulia coffee is one of the regional superior commodities.

“So, the  Regency Government of Puncak Jaya is fully committed to preparing the Mulia coffee to participate in supporting the Papua PON,” she said.

Regent Yuni Wonda said that people in Puncak Jaya Regency participated in the success of PON XX Papua through Mulia coffee as evidenced by the continuous increase in the process of collecting coffee beans from coffee farmers’ crops.

“Coffee farmers were given counseling several times as well as assistance in the form of the coffee grinding machines in order to increase their yields in preparation for the Papua National PON,” she said. It is hoped that the impact of the implementation of the Papua PON is not only seen in terms of sports achievements, but the event of  PON XX  can raise the potential of Papua’s natural resources in order to increase the economic income of the community.
