Papuan Exports Increase by 59.55 Percent on August 2021

goodmorningpapua.com – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Papua Province recorded that exports from the Papua region on August 2021 had a significant increase. The increase that occurred was worth 535.94 million US dollars or an increase of 59.55 percent compared to the previous month which was worth 335.90 million US dollars.

A Coordinator of the Distribution Statistics Function of the Papua Province BPS Bambang Wahyu Ponco Aji in Jayapura, Thursday, said that in terms of type, Papuan exports this month were only in the form of non-oil and gas exports worth 535.94 million US dollars.

“This month’s largest export came from Amamapare Port, which was worth 527.62 million US dollars or in other words 98.49 percent of Papuan total exports,” he said.

According to Bambang, cumulatively, Papuan total exports on January-August 2021 were valued at US$ 2,529.00 million, an increase of 254.80% compared to total exports on January-August 2020 which were valued at US$ 712.80 million.
