Optimizing the Entrepreneurship Sector Can Break the Chain of Economic Gap in Papua

goodmorningpapua.com –  Entrepreneurship is considered to be one of the important solutions to break the chain of economic inequality that occurs in Papua. Therefore, the Special Staff of the President, Billy Mambrasar, emphasized that alleviating of this gap can be started by giving a significant role to young people in Papua.

“Reducing poverty, increasing welfare, and reducing unemployment is to make young Papuan people as actors of development,” said Bily Mambrasar in a discussion entitled Optimizing Strategy for Papuan SMEs in the Covid-19 Period on the Populis Indonesia TV Youtube Channel, Tuesday 1 June 2021.

In addition, Billy also said that to achieve economic equality in Papua, young people can cooperate with the central government. This effort can be started by increasing the capacity of young Papuan people to be able to have good quality in entrepreneurship.

However, this is not easy considering that there are still some obstacles. The challenges that must be faced in an effort to improve the quality of the younger generation include the lack of curiosity to the ability to innovate which is still not optimal.

So, Billy thinks that there needs to be training for the Papuan people, especially the younger generation, to get training, especially in the field of entrepreneurship.

He also added that efforts to continue to advance Papua, especially those driven by young Papuans are also a manifestation of Presidential Instruction No. 9 year 2020.

“Pak Jokowi’s commitment for advancing Papua, for advancing Papuans, has not changed. Therefore, he released Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2020, which is about the Acceleration of Development in Papua and West Papua, where the Papuan People will be the main targets of the welfare improvement program,” said Bill.
