Kartika Monim, a Figure Carrying a Torch of PON XX Papua

goodmorningpapua.com – Kartika Monim seems to be happy after her name is included in the list of torch carriers at the opening ceremony of the National Sports Week (PON) XX Papua, 2 October. The Indonesian volleyball legend will later carry the torch with Erny Sokoy (a former rowing athlete).

Kartika Monim is known as an athlete who has many achievements in volleyball. He had many prominent achievements in the 80s.

The 58-year-old woman won the volleyball gold medal with the late Olce Rumaropen at the 1983 Singapore SEA Games. This achievement was very memorable for Tika because it was only two years after her debut in the volleyball world.

Tika, her  nickname, first started playing volleyball in 1981 by joining a club in her hometown. Since then his career has skyrocketed so that she is often included in Porda representing Jayapura Regency.

Not only that. Tika has also represented Papua to compete in the National Sports Week (PON). She also participated in PON three times throughout his career.

The name of Tika, which is no stranger to PON, along with her status as a legend, makes Ayapo villagers ask her to play an important role in the  PON XX Papua later. She was also asked to be the torchbearer of the opening ceremony.
