The Commander of Lantamal XI Merauke, Brigadier General TNI (Mar) Gatot Mardiyono said the massive Vaccine of Maritime was a work program of the Indonesian Navy. This program collaborates with the government.
“There are 135 people registered for vaccination, but it is likely that the number will increase from the planned number,” said Gatot to reporters in Merauke, Tuesday, April 26, 2022.
He explained that there are two methods in carrying out the vaccination program ordered by the Chief of Naval Staff, namely by opening vaccinations at the Naval Hospital and Lantamal Medical Center and mobile, both in schools and housing.
“This is all free, the people of Merauke can go to the places I mentioned earlier. For today, the vaccine is from the Asmat Tribe,” he said.
Previously, Gatot Mardiyono visited a temporary residence for Asmat people on Jalan Nodari, Karang Indah Village, Merauke District. This temporary housing made of boards was built several years ago by Lantamal XI Merauke. The livable housing is filled with nearly 500 people.
