2 Applications Launched to Promote a Papuan Tourism Ahead of PON XX

goodmorningpapua.com – In order to support and succeed in the implementation of the  PON XX 2021 in Papua Province, the Executive Board of the National Sports Week (PB-PON) in the Social and Cultural Sector launched the Papua Tourism Application and the Honai Outlet of Papua.

The Socio-Cultural Coordinator of PB PON Papua XX, Septinus said, the two programs are a manifestation of the results of the identification and inventory of cultural potential and tourism objects located in 4 clusters of PON XX of Papua, namely Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Mimika Regency and Merauke Regency, including 2 areas of buffer for Biak Numfor Regency and Jayawijaya Regency.

“The purpose of launching the Papua Tourism Application is to introduce and promote all tourism objects in the 4 clusters of PON XX Papua, ranging from the natural tourism, cultural tourism  as well as historical tourism and  to be an online e-commerce for selling cultural products,” he said in a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday (19/8/2021).

Meanwhile, the aim of the program of Honai Outlet of Papua is to introduce and market all cultural products from the 4 clusters of PON XX Papua, such as Woven (bag/noken), Carving, Bark Painting, Pottery and Local Culinary by online through the Papua Tourism Application and directly at the Honai Outlet of Papua, to all athletes, officials and invited guests who will come to Papua in the PON implementation in October.

In addition, this event also publishes official social media from Papua Tourism. For Instagram, it can be seen at papua.tourism, while YouTube and Facebook officially use the name Papua Tourism.

It is hoped that through the Papua Tourism Application, Honai Ouytlet of Papua  and Papua Tourism Social Media, all cultural products made by the Papuan people in 5 customary/cultural areas spread over 4 ecological zones in Papua can use them to sell their creation, so that they can become a source of income and be able to improve its economy during the implementation of PON.

“Thus, 3 successes in the implementation of PON XX of Papua, especially economic success, can be realized through these two programs from the Socio-Cultural Sector,” he concluded.
