100 Days Towards PON XX of Papua, Menpora Ensures Well-Coordinated Preparations

Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Zainudin Amali became a guest speaker at the Talk Show Forum of Merdeka Barat 9 (FMB 9), with a theme ‘Peeking at the Readiness of PON XX of Papua’, Thursday (24/6/2021), virtually from the Kemenpora Sitroom. At the event, the Minister of Youth and Sports said that the preparation for PON XX of Papua was going well.

In his view, in 100 days, the Ministry of Youth and Sports together with the Central KONI and PB PON and related institutions steadily do a coordination, so that this big national celebration can run well and smoothly.

“The non-physical preparations (coordination) like this are also important, in addition to preparing for physical things, venues, lodging, transportation and various things,” said the Menpora, who was accompanied by the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G. Plate and Wali Jayapura City, Benhur Tomi Mano.

Overall, at the meeting last March 15, the Governor of Papua has stated that he is ready, and preparations in the field continue to be coordinated.

In addition, the Minister of Communication and Information provides support to the Ministry of Youth and Sports and PB PON. “For PON, we will take all steps to ensure the availability of telecommunications services and sufficient bandwidth for PON in Papua,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Jayapura, Benhur Tomi Mano, said that the Papuan people were very enthusiastic about the PON XX. “Papua will also become a national training ground in the eastern Indonesia and the pride of sporting achievements in Indonesia. We are proud, Papuans are given the trust. So that, Papuans say, people can. We will prove this. I will tell you that Papua is safe, Papua is peaceful, “he said.
